OUR STORY

Meet The Baileys

Three Blokes Who Love Beer.

We’re a family business – a father and two sons. So we could say something about the founders being a dynasty of brewers who passed a recipe from generation to generation. But we’ve never been good at keeping a straight face.

Truth is, we just like beer. Making it. Sharing it. Drinking it.

Like all good business ideas, ours had been bubbling for years – mostly on lazy Sunday sessions with mates, rellies, kids and dogs. Over those long, happy hours around tables, laughing and eating, we imagined creating a place of our own – a special place with everything we figured we’d love as much as you. With good, quality beer brewed right there, great local food, and space to bring the whole family together any time.

To be our perfect, family friendly brewery, stuff had to be easy, no fuss, simple. Easy drinking craft beers. Simple, fresh food (no pretentious menus). Outstanding service. A baby change room. Easy parking. We wanted you to share a great day out that ends with a bloody good feeling, and not a hole in your wallet. It’s pretty simple really. It had to be a classic, Aussie backyard, so in 2019, we found a block, and built this place. (Only after we asked the wives, of course.) And now you and your families are welcome to our family’s favourite spot – the Bailey Brewing Co.

Cheers!
Steve, Dan & Geoff Bailey

Building A Backyard

Always starts with a tool shed.

All good stories begin with a mystery. Ours was a shed of old tools, maps, lamps, books, and beekeeping gear. Not what you expect to find when you buy land in the Swan Valley and it sure as hell made us curious.

After a 4-month search and some help from the local community, we found the owner of the collection: Alton “Toppy” Geer, a beekeeper who’d sold honey from the property alongside his wife, Jan, for over 38 years. People would travel from as far away as Geraldton and Kalgoorlie to say G’Day and pick-up a pot to spread on their morning toast.

The way we see it, local stories like this is what makes the Swan Valley great

The way we see it, local stories like this is what makes the Swan Valley great – so, with Toppy’s blessing, we used the items from the shed to decorate our brewery. The bee you’ll spy around the place is also a silent salute to the Geer family that came before us.

And as to where Toppy is now – it seems not even age can slow him down (no surprise for a to a man nicknamed for an inability to sit still). You’ll find him busy at work refurbishing antique planes – a thirsty job and one that will always get him a beer on the house.

The craft

Our philosophy has always been to brew simple, sessionable beers that taste great. We bring in the best hops we can find and combine with fresh-as WA ingredients to get the recipe just right. Once our craft is done, the liquid gold is transferred to our serving tanks ready to be poured from the tap, straight to you.
